Janus is a specific application to prioritize and screen substances, considering PBT (persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic), CMR (carcinogenic, mutagenic and reprotoxic), as well as chemicals supposed to be endocrine disruptors. Janus further expands the previous prioritization project for PBT, called PROMETHEUS. Both projects have been founded by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (UBA).
Janus has been developed by Kode Chemoinformatics in collaboration with Istituto di Ricerche Farmacologiche Mario Negri and KnowledgeMiner. It is distributed under an open source license and it is freely downloadable from the VEGA HUB website.
